Hey everyone! I just got my Vaxneuvance 0.5ml IM vaccine today to protect against those nasty pneumococcal bacteria which can cause pneumonia, meningitis, and bacteremia. The nurse said it might sting a bit, but I didn't really feel anything unusual. I've been reading about the possible side effects but just wanted to see if anyone else has had this vaccine and if they experienced any of them I've been seeing a lot of chatter online. My main concern is the potential allergic reaction, so I'll be keeping a close eye out for any of the symptoms listed like hives or swelling. Does anyone have any insights or tips on dealing with minor side effects like muscle pain or headaches? Also, if you've had kids get this vaccine, I'd love to know how they handled it. Will be around this weekend when I get the chance to check back in and read more of your advice. Thanks everyone!

Just remember, the side effects are usually mild and short-lived. The serious stuff is rare, but it's good to be aware. If you do experience any severe symptoms, don't hesitate to call your doctor. Better safe than sorry, right?

My kid got Vaxneuvance when he was about 14 months old. He was a bit irritable and slept more than usual for a day or two, but otherwise, he was fine. Just keep an eye on any fever or unusual sleepiness. It's always nerve-wracking when it's your kid, but he handled it better than I did.

I'm glad you're proactive about your health! Vaccines can be a bit scary, but they're so important. Fingers crossed for a smooth recovery for you! Just stay hydrated and take good care of yourself. You got this!

Great question about dealing with minor side effects. For headaches, I usually take some ibuprofen and rest. If you get a fever, make sure to drink plenty of fluids and monitor it closely. If it gets too high, definitely call your doctor.

It feels like every vaccine has its own set of side effects that you have to be on the lookout for, doesn't it? Be sure to stay hydrated and get plenty of rest. That always helps me when I'm feeling a bit off after a vaccine.

I worked in a hospital for a while and saw a few people who had reactions to vaccines. Most of the time, it was just minor stuff. But there was this one time... I was actually in a position to calm down a patient who was feeling nervous about the pain of getting the shot. Vaxneuvance is new news to me but I'm all for prevention of infections I guess.

I had this vaccine a few months ago and the injection site was a bit sore for about a day. But honestly, my arm was more sore than anything else. No hives or anything serious, thankfully. It's definitely worth it to avoid those nasty infections though, so good on ya for getting it!

I had this vaccine and the only thing I noticed was a slight headache. I took some Tylenol and it went away. Nothing too bad.

How long have you been waiting to get this shot? I got mine as soon as I could because I have an elderly family member I live with and this way I can protect myself and them in the process.
