Got a pretty bad sunburn last weekend and the itching is driving me crazy. Picked up some Prax 1% Lotion to try and get some relief. Anyone have experience using this? How well does it work for things like sunburn? I'm hoping it'll help numb it out, but I'm also a bit concerned about the possible side effects and I'm not sure it's safe to use if I have other skin irritation. Especially went it comes to the allergic reaction symptoms. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

I'm allergic to a lot of topical medications. Always be cautious with this stuff. But it has worked great for me when I needed it. It worked well for insect bites and small cuts. I always make sure to wash it off after a few hours, just to be safe. You never know what they put into these medications.

My doctor recommended it for some really bad dry skin. It worked, but I had to be careful not to use too much. My skin felt weirdly numb all the time, which was a bit unnerving. It’s good to patch test first before applying it all over.

Beware of the burning sensation it can cause. It stung a bit when I applied it to my sunburn, but it did help numb the itching. Not sure if it's worth the pain. Also, I didn't know it could be used rectally. That's... informative.

I used it for poison ivy once and it worked like a charm. I got a super bad rash and it was unbearable until I slathered Prax on it. I’d be cautious about the allergic reactions, but I’ve never had an issue. It’s always good to keep an eye on. It also comes with a weird smell, but it’s a small price to pay. It'll take some time to get used to it.

Honestly, I think it's a bit overhyped. I tried it for a sunburn and it didn't do much for me. Plus, the smell was awful, honestly I think it was stronger than the pain. Still, I did feel some relief, so I guess it worked a little. Wish I got the cream instead of the lotion. If you have the option, I would recommend trying that out.

I had some trouble with the smell, tbh. And I think it’s always worth mentioning that some irritation and redness are pretty common. If you're worried, try a small patch test before slathering it on.

I used it for some bad windburn and it worked wonders. I mean, it helped a lot, and it barely smelled. It definitely helped take the burning sensation away. Plus, it didn't irritate my skin, which is a plus for me. I think it's a great option for sunburns.

I've used it for insect bites and it helped a lot. But I did get some weird redness around the bite. It wasn't too bad, but I'll probably just stick to hydrocortisone cream from now on.

I think this stuff is a godsend and it's not just the itching the lotion gets rid of. As for the rectal use, though, eek. That’s a hard no for me.
