I've just been prescribed this Azithromycin 200mg/5ml Susp 15ml antibiotic to treat an ear infection. My doctor said it would help stop the bacteria causing the infection, but I've also seen some pretty scary side effects listed. Has anyone else taken this medication? If so, how did it work for you? Were the side effects as bad as they seem in the list

Don't forget to take it on an empty stomach—it works better that way. I did that and it helped a lot.

I took this for strep throat and it knocked it out. But I did get a weird rash that my doctor said wasn't a big deal. Just make sure you take the whole course of meds and don't stop early because you feel better.

Don't forget that if you take this drug, you need to finish it. Leaving it untaken can cause antibiotic resistance.

I had a close call on this drug. Woke up in the middle of the night with what felt like a heart attack. Turns out it was a side effect. Definitely scary stuff.

Ugh, I had to take this for a sexually transmitted infection and the side effects were rough. Really bad stomach pain, but I got through it. Better safe than sorry, though. Hope your ear infection clears up!

Azithromycin worked great for me when I had pneumonia. No side effects at all. I did notice some stomach upset but it was minor and went away quickly. Hope you feel better!

My friend had a really bad side effect. They got a really bad rash all over their body. Be on the lookout for stuff like that.

I had a bad reaction to this stuff. I got really bad diarrhea and ended up in the ER. I would be careful and make sure to call your doctor if you have any issues.

I had to take this after a nasty bout of bronchitis, and it did the job. But there was some really bad diarrhea while I was taking it.
