Just received a prescription for Rocephin 1gm Inj, 1 Vial - Has anyone experienced serious side effects or any advice?
I recently received a prescription for Rocephin 1gm Inj (Ceftriaxone) to treat a severe infection. The doctor mentioned it's strong and effective, but the list of side effects is quite scary. Has anyone here had any serious side effects like a severe allergic reaction, gallstones, or kidney problems? What should I watch out for? Any tips on dealing with the more common side effects like diarrhea or upset stomach would be appreciated too. Thanks!

Just a heads up, Rocephin can mess with your gut badly, so consider getting some probiotics to help your system recover after you're done with the antibiotics.
I had it for a skin infection and had some irritation around the injection site, but nothing major. The doc said to apply a cold compress if it gets too bothersome. Also, if you start feeling extremely sleepy or confused, go to the ER. Could be a sign of something serious.

I’ve seen it cause some serious issues, especially with the kidneys. If you start feeling any pain or discomfort in your back or belly area, or notice any changes in your urine, get to a doctor ASAP. No joke, it can cause kidney stones!
