Just started Amlodipine-Atorvastatin 2.5/10mg Tabs for high blood pressure and cholesterol. What are your experiences?
I've just been prescribed Amlodipine-Atorvastatin 2.5/10mg Tabs to manage both my high blood pressure and high cholesterol. This combo pill is supposed to help relax blood vessels and lower 'bad' cholesterol while raising 'good' cholesterol. Anyone else on this medication? How have you found it? I'm a bit worried about the potential side effects, especially the muscle and liver-related ones. Has anyone experienced any of these, or are they really rare? I'm hoping to get some insight and tips from others who have been on this medication. By the way, I'm also curious if anyone can tell me if this reduces the risk of heart attack and stroke

I've been on this for a few months now and it's been great for my blood pressure. Just make sure to monitor your liver and muscle health as suggested.
Yikes, liver problems sound scary. How often should I get my liver checked while on this? I'd rather be safe than sorry.
I've been on this for over a year now, and it's been a game-changer for my heart health. No real side effects at all, and it's much easier than taking two separate pills. The side effects listed here are pretty rare, so don't worry too much about them.
Be careful with the muscle-related side effects. I had some tenderness and weakness at first, but it went away after a few weeks. If it doesn't, you should definitely talk to your doctor. Also, I noticed some nose irritation initially, but that cleared up pretty quickly.
I had some trouble sleeping at first, but that's it. Everything else has been great. Just make sure to take it at the same time every day for best results.
I had no idea this combo pill could cause such severe side effects. I'm glad I read this thread before starting my treatment. Thanks for sharing!
