Just got prescribed Colestipol 5gm Granule Packets 30's for high cholesterol. It's supposed to help lower your LDL-C levels by binding to bile acids in the gut. Has anyone here taken this medication before? I'm curious about how it works, how it makes you feel, and what kind of results you've seen. I know the side effects can be rough (like constipation and stomach issues), so if anyone has tips on managing them, please share! Also, I heard the tablets can sometimes be hard to swallow – has anyone had trouble with that? Any advice on taking it would be super helpful. Especially since I want to avoid any serious side effects. Thanks in advance for any insights or stories y'all can share!

One thing I noticed is that it's best to take it at night before bed. That way, if you do have any stomach issues, you're less likely to be disturbed during the day. Just a tip!

Sounds like it’s a hassle. Never heard of constipation and stomach pain being fun. But I hear the medication is worth it.

I'm considering trying Colestipol, but I'm worried about the potential for serious side effects. Has anyone had any issues with allergic reactions or trouble swallowing? Any advice before I start?

I’ve heard that some people mix the granules with yogurt or applesauce to make it easier to swallow. Might be worth a try if you're having trouble.

I started Colestipol and it made me bloated and gassy. Not fun. My doctor suggested taking a probiotic to help with the digestive issues, and it actually helped a lot. Worth a shot if you're struggling.

I've been on Colestipol for a few years now. It's really helped manage my cholesterol levels. The side effects are manageable. If you're thinking about starting, I'd say give it a shot and talk to your doctor about any issues that come up. I've also noticed that taking it with a full glass of water helps with swallowing.

I've been on this medication for a while now and I've noticed that it does help lower cholesterol, I've had some stomach issues and have to go to the bathroom a lot.

I tried Colestipol for a few months and it didn't really agree with me. I switched to a different cholesterol medication and it's been much better. Everyone is different, so if you're having issues, don't be afraid to talk to your doctor about alternatives.

I've been on Colestipol for about six months now. It's definitely helped lower my cholesterol, but I've had to deal with some unpleasant side effects like constipation and stomach cramps. I've found that increasing my fiber intake and drinking plenty of water has helped a lot.

Sounds like taking this drug is a hassle. If you are going to try this, be prepared. Maybe not the best choice for beginners.
