I've just been prescribed Furosemide 40mg tablets for swelling in my legs. I've heard it's a pretty common 'water pill,' but I'm a bit nervous about the side effects. Has anyone else taken this medication? I want to hear about your experiences, especially regarding any side effects. Did you notice any major changes in your body? How did you deal with the side effects? Did you have to call your primary care physician or seek emergency medical care?

I don't think it did anything for me. I felt the same as I did before my doctor prescribed it to me. Maybe I ate too much salt? I'm not sure. My doctor told me to stop taking it and I haven't noticed any major changes since then.

You'll probably need to keep a close eye on your electrolyte levels while you're taking this. It can mess with your sodium and potassium, so make sure you're getting enough.

I took this for a while, but the dizziness got too bad. I'd get dizzy just walking to the mailbox. My doctor had me switch to something less intense, and it was a much better solution.

I've been taking Furosemide for about 6 months now, and it's been a game-changer. I've lost 20 pounds and feel like I have more energy than I've had in years. Just make sure you're staying hydrated and eating well, and you'll be just fine.

I had a bad reaction to this med, it was hell. I got a rash, and it was really scary. My hands were swollen, and I had a hard time typing and doing my job. Ended up in the ER, like the symptoms said in the warning. Not everyone has it this bad, but it's worth noting. But my doctor told me to switch it as soon as I got back, so it was all resolved easily.
