Just started Imitrex 100mg Tablets for migraines - any advice or experiences?
I was recently prescribed Imitrex 100mg Tablets to manage my recurring migraine and cluster headaches. My doctor said it works by narrowing blood vessels in the brain and reducing substances that cause headache pain, nausea, and sensitivity to light and sound. I'm supposed to take it as soon as I feel a headache coming on, but I'm a bit nervous about the side effects, especially the serious ones like seizures or serotonin syndrome. Has anyone else used this medication? I'd love to hear about your experiences, both good and bad. Any tips on how to manage the side effects or know when to seek medical help? Thanks in advance!

I think this is a very helpful thread. I have been thinking of switching from my current medication to Imitrex. This really helps.
Make sure you're not taking any other medications that could cause serotonin syndrome. I had a bad experience with that once and it was terrifying
I find that if I take it with food, it helps with the upset stomach side effect. Just a tip!
I hope you get some relief! Just keep yourself hydrated and don't forget to rest
I had a friend whose side effects went from mild to really bad. They started with a rash and it escalated to serious dizziness and passing out. I hope yours goes better than that. Good luck.
I've had some strange sensations like tingling and numbness, but my doctor said it's normal. Just keep an eye on it and if it gets worse, go to the doctor.
I get really flushed when I take Imitrex. It's weird, but it goes away after a while. Is that normal? No clue but thought I should share.
