Just started Nuzyra 150mg Tablets for pneumonia - any tips or things I should look out for?
I was prescribed Nuzyra 150mg Tablets for pneumonia and I'm wondering if anyone has any tips or things I should look out for while taking it. I've heard it can cause some serious side effects so I want to be prepared. Does anyone have any experience with this medication? How do I know if I'm having an allergic reaction or if it's just normal side effects? I've been reading about the potential for liver issues and pancreatitis, both of which scare me. Oh, and how does it interact with other medications and food? Should I be taking this medication with or without food? Any help would be appreciated!

I had terrible stomach issues my first couple of days on Nuzyra. If you have any stomach issues like mine, you may want to stick with a basic diet and smaller meals. Also, stay hydrated and maybe take some probiotics to counteract the diarrhea.
Nuzyra is an important antibiotic and it saved me from pneumonia. Well worth the minor inconvenience of an upset stomach. I took mine with food. No issues with it.
I had to take Nuzyra and it was no big deal. I didn't have any side effects. I did have to stop taking my iron supplement since it messes with the antibiotics. But I made sure to finish the whole course and I got better in no time.
Seriously, if you start puking up your own spleen, go to the hospital. No joke. Some side effects are rare but can be deadly. Also, keep an eye on your liver and pancreas. Those are both critical organs.
Be careful with Nuzyra if you're taking other meds. It can interact with some, so check with your doctor first. I had to stop taking my multivitamin while on Nuzyra, but it was fine after I finished the course. And yeah, finish the entire prescription even if you feel better. Good luck!
I've had a bad reaction to antibiotics before and it was scary. If you notice any strange symptoms like hives break out or your throat feels tight, go to the ER immediately. It's better to be safe than sorry. Contact your doctor if you experience any severe stomach pain.
Did your doctor mention the risk of C. diff? It's a bad one. Make sure to check with them on their thoughts. My doc had me prepared for that and it was a relief.
I took Nuzyra for a skin infection last year. It worked great, but I did have some upset stomach and diarrhea. I took it with food which helped a bit. Just make sure to finish the entire course even if you feel better. Also, keep an eye on your urine color, dark urine can be a sign of liver issues.
Nuzyra kicked my pneumonia's butt, but I had to deal with some nasty diarrhea. Drink lots of water and maybe pick up some Imodium if it gets bad. Just remember, it's better to have diarrhea than pneumonia, right? Should last only as long as the medicine does.
