I was recently prescribed Pitavastatin 2mg Tablets to lower my high cholesterol and triglyceride levels. I've been feeling anxious about starting a new medication, especially since the side effects list is surprisingly long. Has anyone else had experience with this medication? I'm curious about how well it works and what kind of side effects to expect. My doctor mentioned that it could help prevent heart disease and strokes, which is a huge plus, but I want to hear from others who have been through this.

I've read that it can cause muscle pain and liver problems in rare cases, which is scary. I also noticed that it might be effective in reducing my 'bad' cholesterol (LDL) and increasing my 'good' cholesterol (HDL).

If anyone has more information or personal anecdotes, I’d love to hear them. How should I handle the potential side effects? Are they worth the long-term risk reduction?

Also, does anyone else experience constipation or back pain while on this medication? I have a feeling I might get a little nervous every time I experience any symptoms.

Thanks in advance for any insights!

I had to switch to a different statin for work purposes but pitavastatin worked really well for me. I was able to stop the medication for a brief period and my cholesterol levels went up real quick. It was alarming and I think it really showed how effective the medication was.

I have beef with Pitavastatin - I got rashes and felt extra weak. I stopped using it and my cholesterol is under control. I think it's worth consulting with multiple doctors about this.

If you can take medication in the evening it’s better. I had some weird muscle pain when I took it at night and it went away with some intense stretching and a good amount of sleep.

I started Pitavastatin a couple of months ago, and I feel more energetic but I don’t think my cholesterol is going down. Does anyone know how soon I should expect results?

I've been on Pitavastatin for a few months now, and it's been a game-changer for my cholesterol levels. I haven't experienced any major side effects, just a bit of back pain sometimes.

Make sure you report any symptoms to your doctor immediately just in case. I think it’s a good idea to keep a log of any side effects you might have. You better be safe than sorry. Also, I think that your doctor should be monitoring your liver enzymes too. It can be a bit scary but it’s better to be safe.
