Just Started Propecia for Hair Loss: Any Advice or Experiences to Share?
I recently started taking Propecia 1mg tablets to combat my male pattern hair loss. I've heard mixed things about the side effects and wanted to see if anyone else has experience with it. I know there are some severe side effects to watch out for, but I'm more curious about the everyday experiences. Has anyone noticed improvements in their hair? What did it take to notice these improvements? My doctor said it takes a while to see the effects and I might even go through a shedding phase first. I'm also worried about the side effects, especially the sexual ones that can last even after stopping the medication. Has anyone experienced these? Any tips for managing them? Or should I just wait and see what happens? Even small improvements or additional side effects information would be helpful to be prepared.

I've been on it for a year and it has been amazing. My hairline has improved significantly. My doctor said that if I stop taking it, I might lose any progress. I am planning on taking it as long as it is safe for me.
I stopped taking Propecia because of the sexual side effects. They were really affecting my relationship. It's been about a year since I stopped, and I still have issues. It's scary stuff. Maybe talk to your doctor about other options?
I noticed that my hair follicles seemed to be more sensitive after starting. I was really careful not to irritate them. For sexual side effects, maybe try some exercise and diet changes to boost your energy level. You know, some of the best changes to your health come from just eating healthy and working out.
Don't freak out about the side effects. They are rare, and most people tolerate Propecia well. Just keep an eye out and report any issues to your doctor. Good luck, man. You got this!
I'm on month 3 and I've noticed my hair is not falling out as much, but no regrowth yet. I'm trying to be patient. 3 months seems to be a good milestone to judge effectiveness. If you start shedding a lot, you are on the right track. Persist, but consult your doctor if you are concerned.
I saw some regrowth but then I started losing again. I went back and forth with the dermatologist, but he said it could be a lot of reasons. He suggested Rogaine, but I didn't want to deal with the mess of it. I don't know if I should just deal with the side effects of Propecia or find another solution.
I've been on Propecia for about 6 months now. I did experience some shedding at first, but I'm starting to see some regrowth. It's slow, but it's there. As for side effects, I haven't had any major ones. Just a bit of tiredness sometimes. Hang in there, it takes time!
We're all different, so it’s hard to say what will happen to you. Maybe it will help you, maybe it won’t. Just remember, it’s a big decision to start this medication because of possible long-term effects. But if you have a family history of baldness, it might be worth it.
For those experiencing sexual side effects, you might want to talk to your doctor about adjusting the dose. Sometimes, lowering the dose can help minimize the side effects. But, of course, don't do this without your doctor's approval.
I had a friend who took Propecia and he swore it saved his hair. He said he started noticing a difference after about 4 months. He also said the side effects were minimal, just a little bit of fatigue. He took it for a few years and then stopped. He said his hair loss returned, but it was worth it for the time he had his hair back.
