Just tried Nuvessa 1.3% Vag Gel-5g Single Dose for BV - anyone else use it? Thoughts?
I was recently prescribed Nuvessa 1.3% Vag Gel-5g Single Dose for bacterial vaginosis (BV). I've never used an antibiotic gel like this before, you apply it directly into your vagina using an applicator. I've used it once before and I am feeling a bit confused. I've heard some mixed reviews about the effectiveness and side effects, so I wanted to reach out to others who have used it. I'm curious about your experiences, both positive and negative. Did you find it effective? Did you experience any side effects? I've read about some of the urgent side effects like allergic reactions and nervous system problems, which are quite scary for someone who has never had severe reactions to medication before, and I'm starting to doubt my decision to try this out, but applying it was painless and easy enough. Some reviews online say it smells a bit odd as well. Has anyone else noticed this?

I had a really bad reaction to Nuvessa. I ended up with severe hives and had to go to the ER. Be careful and make sure you're not allergic to anything in it. It was definitely a scary experience, and I wish I had looked into it more before using it. I'm definitely going to do more research before I try a new medication again
I heard nervous system problems can happen. I researched before using and I was a little terrified reading about seizures and stuff. In the end I didn't have any problems, but I'm still a bit nervous about it. If you're feeling unsure, maybe talk to your doctor about it? I wish I had.
I used Nuvessa and it was a godsend. No side effects, and it cleared up my BV in no time. I highly recommend it.
I had a weird reaction to Nuvessa. I didn't have any allergic reaction or anything, but I got weird burning sensations in my thighs. It was weird and uncomfortable. I never had the same reaction again.
I used Nuvessa and it worked for me. I didn't have any side effects, but I did notice that it had a slight smell. I didn't mind it, but my partner wasn't too thrilled.
I didn't have any side effects, but I did notice that the applicator was a bit awkward to use. I had to fidget with it for a while to get it right. Did anyone else have this issue?
I used Nuvessa and it worked wonders for my BV. No side effects here, but I did notice a slight smell. It was odd at first, but it went away after a few hours.
I'm on my third dose and so far, so good. No side effects, and I feel like it's working. Fingers crossed it continues to work!
I had no idea BV was a thing until my doctor diagnosed me with it. I tried Nuvessa and it worked, but I had a lot of questions. I wish I had done more research before, but I still think it was worth it in the end.
I've had BV before and didn't even know it until my doctor told me. I went through a few rounds of antibiotics and eventually I tried Nuvessa. First time it was a bit of a shock and I wasn't sure what to expect. I ended up having headaches and a bit of stomach pain but the BV cleared up. Looking back the headaches were probably worth it but I wasn't too happy with it.
