I've been using Ketoconazole 2% Foam for a few weeks now to treat my seborrheic dermatitis, and while it seems to be helping with the fungus, I've experienced some side effects that I wasn't expecting. The burning and irritation at the application site are quite uncomfortable, and I'm a bit worried about the potential for more severe reactions. Has anyone else had similar experiences, or know of any tips to manage these side effects better? Also, is anyone familiar with the severe side effects listed? I want to make sure I'm not missing any important warnings. My doctor didn't go over them in much detail.

Ketoconazole can be tough on the skin, but it's usually worth it. Make sure you're not applying it to broken skin or areas that are already irritated. If you experience any severe reactions you should call your local emergency services, as you could get a serious adverse reaction.

Be careful with sunlight exposure. I got a nasty rash after using it and then going to the beach. The foam can make your skin more sensitive to UV rays.

I've been using it for months and haven't had any major issues. Just a little bit of burning at first, which went away after a week.

I actually prefer the shampoo version. It's easier to apply and washes off quickly so it doesn't feel so irritating. I use this for my scalp and I also use an over the counter anti-fungal cream for my nails. It worked for me.

I had a really bad reaction to this stuff. Woke up with this terrible rash and my skin was peeling. Had to go to the ER. Not worth it for me. I am glad I read the label and knew what the signs of a severe reaction were though.

I had really bad burning with this one. I thought maybe I was allergic or something, but my doctor said it was just a sensitivity to the foam. Switching to the cream version helped a lot.

This stuff is amazing for my scalp. I have a really bad case of seborrheic dermatitis and this has cleared it up completely. I just wish it didn't burn so much when I apply it. I've been using it for 5 weeks, so 5-10 applications so far. It's not so bad now. The first week was the worst. My doctor recommended I try to use it once a month after the first month as a preventative measure, and I'd say that's working well.

Anyone else notice that this foam leaves your hair feeling weird? Like, almost waxy. It's a bit annoying but I deal with it.

If you're experiencing severe side effects, definitely call your doctor. Don't wait it out. I had a friend who had a bad reaction and ended up in the hospital. It's not worth risking your health.

I had to stop using it because of the irritation. It just wasn't worth it for me. I switched to a different antifungal and it's been much better.
