I've been on Lamotrigine ODT 25mg Tablets for a few months now to manage my bipolar disorder, and I've had a mix of positive and negative experiences. The medication has definitely helped stabilize my mood, but the side effects have been a bit challenging. I've noticed some dizziness, drowsiness, and occasional stomach upset, but nothing too severe. I've also had a bit of trouble sleeping, but that could be due to a combination of factors. I'm curious if anyone else has experienced similar side effects and if you have any tips for managing them. I've also heard about the potential for more serious side effects, so I'm really taking this medication seriously. I'd love to hear about other peoples' experiences, good or bad. What has worked for you? What has been the hardest part?

I've had some really bad dizzy spells on this stuff, especially when I first started. My doctor said it could take a few weeks to adjust. Anybody else find that? It got better after a month but it was rough.

Just started this med and I’m already feeling the drowsiness. Any tips for staying awake during the day?

Be careful with this one, folks. I had a friend who ended up in the hospital with some serious kidney issues. It's rare, but it can happen.

I've had some weird stuff like eye movements and balance problems. It was really scary but my doc said it was rare but possible. I opted to switch meds for that reason.

I've been on Lamotrigine for a while and the biggest issue I had was the rash. It was scary because it can be a sign of a serious allergic reaction. I had to go off the medication for a bit but my doctor said I could try it again at a lower dose. I'm doing much better now.

Has anyone else had a really bad rash? I swear I looked like a tomato. It took a while to go away. I hated it.

I'm on 100mg now and it's been great for my mood. No serious side effects and I don't even feel it anymore. Just be patient with the dosage increase, it's worth it.

I've found that taking the tablet with food helps with the stomach issues. Also, try not to take it too close to bedtime as it can make you sleepy.

I really like the ODT form. No more trouble with swallowing pills. It’s a game changer for me. But don’t take it with water or your mouth will fill up with babbly pill goop.

I’ve been on a lot of different meds and Lamotrigine has been the most effective for my bipolar symptoms. The side effects are manageable, but it’s definitely worth sticking it out if your doc says it’s the right choice.
