I've been using Lidocaine 3%/HC 0.5% Cream for a few weeks now to treat anal fissures and hemorrhoids as recommended by my doctor. It's a bit pricey, but I was willing to pay for the relief. The cream has really helped with the pain and itching, but I've been worried about the potential side effects. I've had some discomfort from the cream itself, but nothing too severe. I've been trying to keep a close eye on any changes in my skin color or other signs that something might be going wrong. I'd love to hear from others who have used this cream—have you experienced any concerning side effects? How do you manage the application to avoid irritation at the site? I'm especially curious about the rare but serious side effects like methemoglobinemia and adrenal gland weakness. My doctor mentioned that taking the cream can cause Cushing's syndrome over a long period of time, but he didn't mention much about symptoms beyond weight gain. If anyone has experienced or has more information on these side effects, I'd really appreciate your input. This is important because I want to be fully prepared and informed.

I had some severe itching and redness when I first started using it, but I didn't think it was worth worrying over. I also was confused whether the cream could cause blackish discoloration or was it something else. I would have to check with the doctor. If anyone else has experienced any of the more serious side effects mentioned, please let me know.

I've had this cream for a while and used it for a long time. I went to the doctor because of the excessive weight gain in my upper body. He told me to stop using it immediately, but I'm still scared of the long-term impact. I honestly never expected to hear that topicals could cause these issues. I was just using it for the occasional flare-up.

I just started using it last night. I'm hoping those side effects don't show up.

Be careful with this stuff. I used it for a week and ended up with a rash all over my abdomen. Turns out I was allergic to the hydrocortisone. It was a nightmare and the doctor told me to flush the cream off and avoid any topical steroids from that point forward. Used some other stuff, and it worked out.

This happened to me as well. I stopped using the cream after a day. I know a number of people who use it regularly. I think I'd prefer to live with the discomfort.

I always thought the redness and skin changes were normal until I read this. My doctor didn't tell me about any serious side effects at all. I'm definitely going to ask him about it at my next appointment. I would like information on how to manage the symptoms.
