Lidocaine 5% Ointment 50gm: My Experience and Some Concerns
I've been using Lidocaine 5% Ointment for a few weeks now to relieve some severe itching from poison ivy. It's been a lifesaver, but I can't help but be a bit worried about the potential side effects. The list of urgent symptoms is quite scary. Has anyone else experienced any issues? I'd love to hear your thoughts and experiences.

Be careful with this stuff. I read that 15 minutes of application is the maximum. After that, you should definitely wash it off. It can cause some serious issues if it's left on for too long, especially in sensitive areas. If you have any further questions you should definitely consult your doctor.
I had a mild reaction to it once. My skin turned a bit red and swollen, but it went away after I stopped using it. I wish the ointment came with more clear instructions on how to properly use it.
I used Lidocaine for a bad sunburn, and it did help with the pain but had to stop using it because I was feeling lightheaded, it was really scary. I'm glad I read up on it because I didn't realize it could cause such issues. Always good to be cautious
I've never had any issues with it, but I always make sure to do a patch test first. Just apply a small amount to a tiny area and wait 24 hours to see if you have a reaction. It's a good precaution to take.
I used this for my tattoo and it worked like a charm. No irritation, no burning, just numbness! It was a relief but I still used it sparsely as it can absorb into the skin and bloodstream just want to be cautious.
Did you know that overuse can lead to methemoglobinemia? It's a serious condition where the blood doesn't carry enough oxygen to the body's tissues. Scary stuff, so be careful!
I'm worried about the potential for allergic reactions. I've had bad reactions to medication before, so I'm always cautious. Stay safe out there, folks!
I've seen some people use it for things other than what it's prescribed for. For example, getting tattoos, or piercing without pain or to prolong waxing its not meant for this. It can cause a few issues if not used correctly.
I've used it before for a similar reason, and it worked great for me. Just make sure you don't apply it to broken skin as it can make its way into your bloodstream and cause more issues.
Severe side effects? Really? I've used this for years and never had any issues. Maybe some mild itching at the site of application, but nothing serious. Be cautious, but don't let the scary symptoms stop you from using it if you need it.
