I've been on Enoxaparin 150mg/1ml for about a month now, and I have to say, it's been a bit of a roller coaster. I was prescribed it to prevent blood clots after a recent surgery, and while it's doing its job, the side effects have been a challenge. I've had some pretty bad bruising at the injection sites, and I'm constantly worried about bleeding too much if I accidentally hit myself or something. Has anyone else had this experience? How do you manage the anxiety around these side effects? I've been told I need to stay on it for a few more months, so any tips on making this process less stressful would be much appreciated!

How long did everyone have to be on this stuff? I'm feeling pretty anxious about the long-term effects. Having to do this injection for a few months is daunting.

Just started Enoxaparin — I'm terrified of the needle. Any tips on how to make the injections less painful?

Enoxaparin can be rough, but it's definitely worth it for the prevention of blood clots. I had similar issues with bruising. My doctor recommended using a smaller needle and rotating injection sites. It made a big difference for me. Also, try to stay calm and avoid activities that could cause injuries.

I’m on month 3 of Enoxaparin and the bruising has finally started to lessen. I found that using a heating pad after the injection helped a lot with the discomfort. Also, make sure to stay hydrated and avoid alcohol, as it can thin your blood even more.

Enduring the injections can be tough but remember, it’s a small price to pay for preventing potentially life-threatening conditions. I found that using a smaller needle and rotating the injection sites really helped with bruising. So did using an alcohol wipe on the site before the injection.
