After years of dealing with excruciating gout flare-ups, my doctor prescribed Allopurinol 100mg tablets. This medication has been a game-changer, but I've also heard some scary stories about potential side effects. How has it worked for others? Have any of you experienced the more serious side effects like Stevens-Johnson syndrome or Toxic Epidermal Necrolysis? I take my medicine daily, and while I don't experience any severe side effects, I've had some dizziness and upsets stomach. I'd love to hear from others with similar experiences. It would be great to know the trade-offs between managing gout and dealing with the occasional side effects.

Don't forget that Allopurinol can also cause more serious side effects like fever, chills, sore throat, and unexplained bruising or bleeding. If you notice any of these, seek medical attention immediately.

I have to agree with the person above - saved me from multiple flare-ups. If you are feeling concerned, then talk about it with you doctor. It is best to ask about what you can do to mitigate risk and harm.

This is a bad drug, just stay away from it. I had some really bad kidney problems, and I don't know if it was from this medicine or not. But I don't want to risk it. I feel really strongly about this. Research on your own, be safe.

I switched to Allopurinol from another medication, febuxostat, because my insurance didn't cover it. I've had no issues so far, and it's been great for keeping my gout under control.

Oh man, I've been through the ringer with this stuff. Gout flares were awful, but the kidney issues I had were a different level of pain.

I've heard horror stories about this stuff. I'm sticking with my colchicine, thanks.

I've been on Allopurinol for about 6 months now, and so far, so good. Just make sure to stay hydrated and avoid things like alcohol and red meat, and you should be fine.

Be careful with this medication. If you experience any signs of infection, such as fever, chills, or sore throat, get medical help immediately. It can be life-threatening!
