I was prescribed Isosorbide Mononitrate 30mg ER Tabs to manage chest pain (angina) caused by heart disease. The medication works by relaxing blood vessels, allowing more blood and oxygen to reach the heart—but it's not for treating sudden chest pain attacks. The side effects are a mixed bag. I experienced some common ones like dizziness and headaches, especially when I started taking them. My doctor said these symptoms often improve over time, and not to adjust the dosage without consulting them first. But the real concern is the serious side effects: signs of an allergic reaction, severe dizziness, and abnormal heartbeat. A few friends have had some scary experiences with this medication, so I wonder if anyone else has gone through similar issues or knows how to manage them safely?

This drug saved my life after a mild heart attack, but oh shit — the dizziness and headaches are brutal. Just be prepared for those symptoms if you start on this med.

I had a bit of chest pain, but my doctor said the Isosorbide Mononitrate wasn't to be used to treat sudden attacks. That was kind of alarming. Ended up using nitroglycerin instead for sudden pain. Have any of you tried that approach?

I just started these and I'm already feeling the headaches. My doctor said it was normal but I'm not sure if I can handle this indefinitely. What should I expect going forward or is there another option?

Aren't these pills the ones that make you feel like you're on a constant roller coaster? I never felt normal after taking them. Does anyone else feel like this?

Be really careful with this one. My uncle had a severe allergic reaction to it. Had to rush him to the ER. It's not worth taking if you get those symptoms, just stay safe and call 911.

I've been on Isosorbide Mononitrate for a while now, and while the dizziness was tough at first, it did get better. I never had any serious side effects, but I always keep my doctor in the loop just to be safe.

My doctor said it helps with the angina but man, the side effects are a pain. I don't know what to do. Please share your experiences.

Just reached the end of my prescriptions. I didn't notice any side effects, but this drug is a lifesaver for my chest pain. Anyone else feel like a lifeline after starting this?
