I recently started taking Fosamax Plus D for my osteoporosis and I wanted to know what to expect in the long term. I am taking Fosamax Plus D Tablets (5600): a medication combination of alendronate and vitamin D3. It helps to strengthen your bones by slowing down bone loss and helps your body absorb calcium, which is essential for strong bones. It's typically used to treat or prevent osteoporosis. I have read the side effects but would love to hear from people who have been on it longer term. Does anyone have experience with severe side effects such as jawbone problems? Finger crossed that this medication works without any severe side effects.

I have been on it for 3 years. If you ever have any concerns, issues or questions, just reach to your doctor immediately. If you have jaw swelling or pain, contact your doctor immediately.

I've been on Fosamax Plus D for about a year now, and honestly, I've had no serious issues so far. I will say that I have experienced some stomach upset, and sometimes I have muscle or joint pain. It's nothing severe, though, and I know it can be much worse for others. The most important thing is to make sure you take it exactly as prescribed and don't forget to follow up with regular check-ups with your doctor.

I've been taking it for about four years, and I've experienced most of the minor side effects but nothing serious. The worst part for me is the stomach upset, but I found that taking it exactly how the doctor prescribed and on an empty stomach really helped. Also, staying hydrated and eating foods with calcium helps a lot. I have also avoided dairy milk for a while and substituted dairy milk with almond milk.

This is a no-brainer, folks. Take the pills religiously and drink TONS of water. I've been on Fosamax Plus D for 7 years. I remember a family friend of mine who had severe osteoporosis and was unable to stand without pain. She was constantly in a hospital bed, so I know exactly what kind of pain and suffering we are talking about and that's why I have to take these pills.

I've also heard about the potential jaw pain issues but haven't experienced any of that. I've just had the usual side effects like constipation and muscle pain. It's manageable, though. I also take a calcium supplement to help with the absorption.

I have had it since around a year and a half ago and it has been working wonders for me. I mean, I just feel so much stronger. Like, I can actually walk without feeling pain in my knees. I know there are side effects, but I haven't had any major ones so far. I would definitely recommend it, but I know everyone has different reactions to medication.

I've heard mixed things about Fosamax Plus D. My mother was on it and she swore by it. She said after a year her bone density test scores were actually improving. My aunt, on the other hand, had a lot of issues with stomach upset and has since switched to another medication. I am still in the first few weeks of taking it so I hope it works well for me.
