I was recently prescribed Pirfenidone 801mg Tablets to manage my Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF). I'm curious to hear from others who have experience with this medication. How has it helped with the scarring process in your lungs? What side effects have you experienced, and how have you managed them? Also, I'd love to know if anyone has tips for dealing with the common side effects like stomach pain, diarrhea, or changes in taste. Your insights and advice would be greatly appreciated!

I've been on Pirfenidone for about a year now. It's definitely helped slow down the progression of my IPF, but I've had some tough side effects. The nausea and upset stomach were awful at first, but my doctor suggested taking it with food and it's much better now.

Be very careful about sunlight exposure and use sunscreen to prevent a skin reaction. it's a bummer when you have to avoid the great outdoors.

I had a friend who got severe sunburn from Pirfenidone. I was shocked. He took it for a few weeks and had to stop due to severe allergic reaction and hives. I hope you can tolerate it better, I know it's tough to find alternatives.

I've had joint pain and trouble sleeping. It's been a real challenge, but I'm trying to manage it with exercise and better sleep habits. I hope this medication keeps working for me.

I noticed a change in my taste buds a few months in, it was really weird! but the extra sun protection was rough and something i wasn't ready for.

I finished my Pirfenidone prescription because it was making me feel worse, but I am wondering if the benefits outweigh the side effects for others? Maybe I'll talk to my doctor about going back on Pirfenidone.

I've been lucky—I haven't had any major issues. Just some nausea and occasionally diarrhea, but nothing I couldn't handle. Definitely talk to your doctor if side effects get bad!

I've had some weight loss, but it's hard to tell if it's from the medication or just the general stress of dealing with IPF. It's been a rough ride, but I'm hanging in there. Be sure to let your doctor know about any changes you have.
