How do you manage nausea when you start taking it? I've been nauseous for weeks now, and it’s getting really annoying.
Has anyone had issues with liver problems?
I’ve had some issues with blood in my urine, which was scary to see for the first time. Make sure to get checked out by your doctor quickly if that happens. It turned out to be a mild case, but it’s still something to look out for.
I switched to Deferasirox from Desferal injections, and it's been a game-changer. No more daily injections, and the side effects are much more manageable. I do have to watch my urine output, but overall, it's been a positive experience. For sure recommend.
Does anyone know if there are any alternatives to Deferasirox? I've heard of Exjade but it seems like it has similar side effects.
I've been taking Deferasirox for about a year now, and it's been a lifesaver. No more iron overload issues, but the side effects can be rough. I get diarrhea and stomach pain pretty often, but my doctor said it's normal. I just manage it with over-the-counter meds and a careful diet. And the skin reactions are worrying, but I didn't have them.
I experienced flu-like symptoms initially, which were terrible, but they went away after a few weeks. I wish I had known to expect those or better prepared for them, it was a rough start. I've had no other side effects.
I’ve had some significant bowel issues while on Deferasirox. It’s made my daily routine tougher, but I think it’s worth it for controlling the iron overload. I would definitely recommend this to those having to deal with regular transfusions.
