I was recently prescribed Isosorbide Mononitrate 120mg ER Tab to manage my angina. My doctor explained that it helps prevent chest pain by relaxing blood vessels and improving blood flow to the heart. I'm curious to hear from others who have been on this medication long-term. What kind of side effects did you experience when you first started taking it? How long did they last? The most concerning part of the side effects list, to me, is the potential for new or worsening chest pain. My doctor said this is rare but I can't shake the feeling of worry. How do you deal with the stress and anxiety around this medication? Any tips for making the most of this treatment would be greatly appreciated!

I've been on Isosorbide Mononitrate for about a year now. The headaches were pretty bad at first, but they went away after a few weeks. I still get some dizziness now and then, but it's manageable. The worst part is the constant worry about chest pain. I keep a list of symptoms to monitor and call my doctor if I notice anything unusual. It's been a process learning to manage my anxiety around this medication.

I just started taking Isosorbide Mononitrate and I'm already feeling the benefits. No more chest pain during my morning jogs, but I wish I'd known about the dizziness. A little scary.

This medication has been a game-changer for me. I used to have constant chest pain, but since I started taking Isosorbide Mononitrate, it's been much more manageable. I still get the occasional headache, but it's worth it to not feel that constant anxiety. I actually haven't had any of the severe side effects mentioned, but I had to stop taking it for a while due to some other medication interactions. Always tell your doctor about all the meds and supplements you're taking.

I have been on this drug for a while. It really helps with the pain. I had a bad reaction though and had to stop taking it. I just use a different med and it works fine for me. Also, I will say that the med makes it so I can't do as much heavy exercise and my endurance is definitely lower.

If you experience dizziness, definitely take it slow when you stand up or get out of bed. Sit on the side of the bed to allow your blood pressure to stabilize before standing. It sucks to deal with the dizziness on top of the angina!

I had a bad reaction to this drug. Felt like I was having a heart attack! Turns out I was having a severe allergic reaction. If you feel anything out of the ordinary, get checked out immediately! Trust me on this!

Did anyone else have issues with Isosorbide Mononitrate causing headaches? The side effects say it's common but I didn't realize how bad they could get.

I've been on Isosorbide Mononitrate for a few years now and found that eating a light snack before taking it helps with the dizziness. I also make sure to take it at the same time every day to keep my levels consistent. This helps the body and med get into a rhythm. My advice? Give it a few weeks to see if the side effects subside, and always keep your doctor in the loop.

I wish more people understood that this medication is for preventing chest pain, not treating it when it happens. Always keep your nitroglycerin tablet or spray on hand for sudden attacks. If you're having an attack on a regular basis, you need to speak with your doctor about treatment changes.
