If you’re using it as a laxative, just make sure you’re staying hydrated. It draws water into your intestines, so you need to drink plenty of water. Same for antacid use — keeps the side effects away.
I've had diarrhea after taking Milk of Magnesia, but it's better than being constipated for days. I usually take it with a lot of water. I’ve been trying out lower doses now to see if I can avoid the diarrhea.

I buy the 473ml bottle because it's just easier than buying smaller ones all the time. It lasts a while and I just want it when it's convenient, not a need right then. Plus, It's cheaper that way.
