I was recently prescribed Esgic Capsules for tension headaches. They contain a mix of barbiturate (butalbital), pain reliever (acetaminophen), and a stimulant (caffeine). I've taken them a few times, but I'm worried about the side effects. Some people have allergic reactions, liver problems, and even Stevens-Johnson syndrome. I've already felt dizzy a few times, which can really mess with my balance. But I was wondering if anyone else has some serious impact on their sleep patterns or if it passes after a while? I'm not sure how to tell if I should just stick it out or if these are bad signs. I'm hoping to hear from others who've experienced Esgic. I do not want to take it if I will have to worry constantly about what to look out for. I'm already dealing with a lot of stress and would like to avoid more anxiety if possible.

I've taken Esgic for years, and I have to say, the dizziness is normal for the first few days. It usually goes away after a week or so if you keep taking it consistently. The side effects are serious but less likely for most people. Just be careful and keep an eye on any changes in your urine or skin, and you should be fine. Definitely call your doc if you notice any of the severe ones.

Interesting, these are the same symptoms I had when I had a reaction to amoxicillin. Anyways, keep in mind that everyone is different in how they react to medication. Hope you get better soon!

Esgic can be really helpful for tension headaches, but it's important to be cautious. I had a friend who ended up in the hospital because of shortness of breath. Make sure you're monitoring your symptoms closely.

I found that Esgic made me feel really nervous and jittery at first. But after a few weeks, it started to help with my headaches. I still get dizzy sometimes, but nothing too bad. I think it's worth a try if you're suffering from headaches.

I had to stop using Esgic because it was causing major digestive problems. Changes in urine color or any issues with urinating are no joke. I'm really glad I caught it early.

I had no idea Esgic was such a strong medication. It's a combo of a barbiturate, pain reliever and a stimulant. Is that safe to take long-term? I have a feeling that I should take it once or twice and then stop, instead of continuously
