I was recently prescribed Ezetimibe/simvastatin 10-10mg Tabs to help lower my high cholesterol levels. My doctor explained that ezetimibe works by blocking the absorption of cholesterol from my diet in the intestines, while simvastatin reduces the amount of cholesterol my liver makes. Together, they help reduce 'bad' cholesterol (LDL-C) and triglycerides, and can increase 'good' cholesterol (HDL-C), which helps prevent heart disease and stroke. I've started taking it and want to know if anyone else has experience with this medication. How effective has it been for you? What side effects did you encounter?

You have my sympathies, this thing is awful. I think I’m going to try a different class of drugs to control my cholesterol.

Ezetimibe/simvastatin has been a godsend for me. My cholesterol levels have stabilized, and I feel much healthier overall. The key is to stay consistent with your diet and exercise routine while taking the medication.

I don’t know why they always prescribe this stuff, but it doesn’t work! Let’s just go back to old fashioned dieting!

I’ve been on Ezetimibe/simvastatin for a year now. It's helped my cholesterol levels a lot, but I did have some minor side effects like headaches and a bit of diarrhea at first. They went away after a few weeks, though. Just make sure to keep an eye out for the more serious side effects the leaflet mentions.
