I've been dealing with occasional constipation for a while now, and I recently tried Bisacodyl 5mg EC Tablets. They've been pretty effective, but I'm curious to hear about other people's experiences. I've read that they can cause some side effects, like stomach cramps, but I haven't had any major issues. Has anyone else had success with this laxative, or do you have any better recommendations for short-term relief? Side note: I've heard that it's important to stay hydrated while using this medication, does anyone have any tips for managing constipation without relying too heavily on laxatives? Also, I've been using it for about a week, do I need to worry about any long-term effects?

This thread is making me wonder if I should be more proactive about my digestive health. I've been constipated for a while, and I think it's time to up my fiber intake and finally go see my doctor.

This stuff gave me the worst stomach ache. I ended up in the ER. I'm not sure if it was a bad reaction or what, but be careful.

I've had constipation for years and I've tried everything. I've found that a combination of Bisacodyl and a high-fiber diet works best for me. If you're going to use it, make sure to up your water intake.

I switched to a high-fiber diet and plenty of water, and it's made a world of difference. But when I was in a pinch, Bisacodyl worked like a charm. Just don't overdo it.

I had a bad reaction to Bisacodyl. I had to stop immediately. It's not worth it for the occasional bout of constipation.
