My experience with Levetirac/sod Chlr 1500mg/100ml Inj: Side effects and unexpected outcomes
I was recently prescribed Levetiracetam (Levetirac/sod Chlr 1500mg/100ml Inj) via injection to manage severe seizures. The medication has been effective in controlling my seizures, but I've also experienced some concerning side effects. I've read about the potential side effects, but I'm curious if anyone else has had similar experiences or if there are any lesser-known side effects that I should be aware of? My appointment with my doctor is still a few weeks away and this is my first time trying a seizure med through injection.

I work in a hospital and have seen patients on this medication. One patient had severe dizziness, fell, and had to be treated for it. Another had serious GI distress. One good thing to note is that the injection form is great for people who can't take oral medications, but it can have a faster onset of side effects. So if you feel any changes, report them to your doctor or nurse right away.
I'm sorry you're going through this. It's so hard to find the right medication sometimes. First, time I have seen someone on it via injection.
I had a family member who was on Levetiracetam and if I remember correctly, we had to call 911 a few times for some serious behavioral changes. It's scary stuff. The pros and cons were so hard to weigh.
I had no idea that this drug could cause such severe reactions. I've had a bad experience with SJS from another drug. I'm glad I read this post and will be extra cautious. I just want to point out to OP that though reactions can be severe, the vast majority of people on any drug do not get them. Always consult with your doctor if you have any concerns or questions.
I had a really bad reaction to Levetiracetam. I developed a severe rash and had to stop taking it immediately. I ended up in the hospital with Toxic epidermal necrolysis. It was terrifying. If you notice any skin changes, get to a doctor ASAP. The injection form can be tricky because of the fast delivery to the system.
I've been on Levetiracetam for a while now, but I take it orally. I haven't had any major side effects, just some dizziness and fatigue initially. I hope your side effects subside soon!
I had a friend who had to go to the ER because of some pretty scary side effects. This stuff is no joke. But for some people it seems to work just fine. Great post for raising awareness.
Steer clear of this med, if you can. At least until you know it's the only thing that will work. The risks are just not worth it, in my opinion. I'd rather deal with a few seizures than risk those awful side effects.
I have a family member who is on Levetiracetam and has experienced some of the less severe side effects. The good news is that they seem to have lessened over time. Have you spoken to your doctor about adjusting your medication or dosage?
