My Experience with Octreotide 0.2mg/ml Injectable for Carcinoid Syndrome
I was recently prescribed Octreotide 0.2mg/ml Injectable for managing severe diarrhea and flushing symptoms caused by carcinoid syndrome. I'm on my second month of treatment and have noticed a significant reduction in symptoms. However, the injection site can get pretty sore. I've been using a cold compress to ease the discomfort. Have any of you experienced issues with Octreotide side effects? How do you cope? Any tips for making the injections less painful would be greatly appreciated. Also, I'm curious about the experiences of others who might be using it for acromegaly. What’s your experience been like?

Side effects can really vary, but I think it’s worth it for the relief it brings. Just stay in close contact with your doctor and report any issues right away. And remember, everyone's experience is different.
I've had some issues with hair loss, which was really tough to deal with. I'm hoping it's just a temporary side effect. Has anyone else experienced this?
I'm glad to hear it's working for you. I started Octreotide a few months ago and it's been a game-changer for my carcinoid symptoms. I did experience some nausea at first, but it subsided after a week.
My biggest issue has been the discomfort at the injection site. It’s almost as painful as the symptoms it’s treating. I’ve tried heating pads but I think the cold compress is a better idea. Has anyone else tried that?
