I was recently diagnosed with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis and prescribed Pirfenidone 267mg Tablets. This medication is supposed to slow the progress of the scarring in my lungs. I've been on it for about a month now. I've experienced some side effects like dizziness and nausea, but my doctor assures me that these are common and can often be dealt with by adjusting the dosage. I'm hoping to hear from others who have experience with this medication. What side effects should I be on the lookout for? Did anyone else get a sunburn easily or have unexplained bruising? Has anyone stopped taking it due to side effects? I'd love to hear your experiences.

I wish Pirfenidone was a little more effective for me. I’m still taking it, but I’m not sure it’s really slowing the progression. Anyone else feeling the same way? I wonder if the side effects are worth it if the results aren't too encouraging.

I didn’t know you could get sunburned from taking this! I've just been avoiding the sun as much as possible, but now I guess I can take short walks.

Does anyone else feel like they can't stand the sunlight at all anymore? It's weird how easy it is for me to get sunburned now.

I've been on Pirfenidone for a couple of years now, and while I've had some side effects, they've been manageable. I had some nausea and stomach pain at the beginning, but my doctor suggested taking the pills with food, which helped a lot.

I was scared when I first started taking this medication. The side effects list is pretty intense, but my doctor talked me through it. Just make sure to keep an eye out for the urgent side effects and talk to your doctor if anything severe comes up.

I had to stop taking it. My liver enzymes were off the charts, and my doctor had to stop the medication. Loved to see people managing through but this stuff is dangerous.
