Octreotide 100mcg Inj, 1ml: What to Expect and How to Manage Potential Side Effects
Hey everyone, I've recently been prescribed Octreotide 100mcg Inj, 1ml for some hormonal issues and I'm a bit overwhelmed by the side effects. I've heard that some people have severe reactions while others don't have any issues. Has anyone had experience with this? What were some of the side effects you faced? Even if it was just a mild one it would be helpful to know. Also, how do you manage them? I'm really anxious about the pancreatitis signs—anyone have experience with that? Thanks in advance for your help.

I had a pretty severe reaction with this once. It was like a bad case of food poisoning—horrible bloating and pain. Not sure if it was the drug but I did get a panic attack and had to go to the ER. Be careful and if you feel something really bad, get a check-up.
I've heard stomach pain can be really bad, but just take the meds with food. That really helped me.
I've been on Octreotide for a while now. The worst part for me was the initial stomach cramps and diarrhea, but it got better after a few weeks. Drink lots of water and eat light to manage the side effects. Good luck!
This thread is making me paranoid about starting Octreotide.
I noticed a lot of hair loss when I started. It was really hard for me. But, you know, hair grows back. Just wanted to put that out there.
I've seen a lot of people with better results from a different medicine. But everybody is different. If you have other options, you might want to consider them.
I'm on it for acromegaly. The side effects were manageable but it's the injection sites that are the worst. I usually take it right before bed so the soreness isn’t bad by morning. Just rotate sites and it’s fine.
I'm on Octreotide and it's been great for my symptoms. I didn't notice the side effects until I started having this weird itch. Then my feet started feeling tingly. No idea if it’s from the meds though.
