Octreotide 50mcg/ml Inj, 1ml: My Experience and Questions About Side Effects
I've recently been prescribed Octreotide 50mcg/ml Inj, 1ml for managing symptoms related to a rare tumor. The doctor explained it helps control severe diarrhea, flushing, and stomach pain, but the list of possible side effects is daunting. I'm curious if anyone else has experience with this medication. How did you handle the side effects, and did any of you have to deal with more serious issues like pancreatitis or gallbladder problems? I'm looking for any tips or advice to make this process smoother.

I've heard that some people had to have their gallbladder removed due to complications. Scary stuff. Make sure to get regular check-ups and report any unusual symptoms right away.
Just started, and I'm already feeling dizzy and weak. Is this normal? Hoping it gets better soon.
I had to stop taking it because of severe dizziness. It was terrible. My doctor switched me to another medication that works just as well without the side effects. Maybe talk to your doctor about alternatives if the side effects are too much?
Be mindful of the injection sites. I had some serious bruising and redness, but it went away after a while. Make sure to rotate your injection sites and keep an eye on any reactions
Why do they make these drugs so complicated? I wish there was a simpler solution. Have you considered other treatments?
I had some hair loss, which was unexpected. It grew back eventually, but it was a bit of a shock at first. Stay positive and focus on the benefits!
I've been on Octreotide for a few months now, and the side effects were tough at first but manageable. I experienced a lot of gas and stomach pain, but my doctor adjusted the dose, and it got better. Definitely stay in touch with your doctor!
