Parasabiv, a medication used to control parathyroid hormone (PTH) levels in patients with kidney disease by being given by injection into your vein at the end of your dialysis session, has a controversial reputation. While it can help keep bones healthy and prevent other problems caused by high PTH, the potential side effects are severe. I have been prescribed Parsabiv 2.5mg/0.5ml Sdv, 0.5ml and am absolutely terrified of these side effects. I am looking to see if anyone else has experiences with this medication or any tips for managing side effects, especially for those who have experienced serious symptoms like abnormal heartbeats or allergic reactions. It's crucial to know what I'm getting into and how to best handle this treatment.

I've heard that people who are already struggling with heart issues should be especially cautious.

Have you considered looking for support groups online? There are plenty of people who have gone through the same thing and can offer advice and encouragement.

Dizziness and muscle cramps are no joke to me. If you feel anything like that, get to the ER.

I had a friend who had an allergic reaction to Parasabiv. It was scary, and she had to be hospitalized. This is a serious medicine, and it should be treated as such. If you experience any signs of an allergic reaction, don't mess around—go to the hospital.

I think it's important to weigh the benefits against the risks. Parasabiv has significantly improved my bone health, so for me, the risk is worth it. But everyone is different, so it's crucial to discuss this with your healthcare provider.

I've been on this medication for a few months now, and while it's helped with my PTH levels, I've had some mild side effects like diarrhea and an upset stomach. I manage them with over-the-counter meds and adjustments to my diet. It's not fun, but it's manageable. Just be prepared and follow your doctor's advice.

If someone experiences severe stomach pain, black stools, or vomiting blood, I've heard that they need to get help immediately. It sounds like a medical emergency to me.
