Ribavirin 6gm Inhalation Solution is an antiviral medication used to treat severe lung infections caused by RSV in babies, young children, and people with weakened immune systems. It's typically administered as a fine mist via inhalation and is often used in hospital settings. If your child has been prescribed this medication, I'd love to hear about your experience. How well does it work? What kind of side effects have you noticed? Any tips for administering it effectively? I'm especially interested in hearing from parents who've been through this and can share their insights. Thanks in mind that this medication can have serious side effects and requires medical supervision. Seek immediate medical attention if your child shows signs of a severe reaction.

My baby was so fussy during the treatment. The mask freaked him out, and he cried the whole time. That's probably the hardest part.

I've heard it can cause some serious side effects. Did anyone else's kid have a bad reaction?

Anyone else's kid have a fever while on this? Mine did, and it sucked because we had to stop the treatment until it went away. The doctor said that's not unusual, though. Just makes it a nightmare to deal with.

My daughter had a bad reaction to it. She broke out in hives and had trouble breathing. We had to stop the treatment immediately.

It's so important to monitor for side effects. If your child starts having trouble breathing or shows signs of an allergic reaction, get them to a doctor ASAP. Better safe than sorry. Better to be overly cautious than to risk a life-threatening reaction. The doctor should have given you a list of things to watch for.

It's crazy how expensive this stuff is. Our insurance didn't cover it all, and we're still paying it off. Hope it works for anyone considering it.

This stuff is a lifesaver. My son was hospitalised with RSV and couldn't breathe right. Ribavirin helped clear his lungs, and he was breathing normally within a few days. The nurse gave it to him using a special machine. Make sure you follow the doctor's instructions carefully.

For those wondering how it's administered, it's usually given through a small particle aerosol generator (SPAG) that turns the liquid into a fine mist. The patient inhales it through a mask or hood. It's a bit tricky to set up, but the hospital staff should be able to handle it. My kid took it well, but every child is different.
