I'm looking for some insight into using Unituxin (dinutuximab) for treating high-risk neuroblastoma. My child was recently diagnosed, and we're considering this treatment. What have other parents' experiences been like? How has your child tolerated the infusions? What side effects did you encounter, and how did you manage them? Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated. We want to know what to expect and how to best support our child through this.

My son experienced a lot of fatigue and weakness. Make sure to have a good balance of rest and activity. And watch for any signs of infection—they can sneak up on you.

This is a tough road, but you're doing the right thing by seeking information. Keep a close eye on any signs of infection or electrolyte imbalances. Those were the scariest parts for us, especially the fever and chills.

Keep a diary of any side effects and talk to the doctor! My daughter had some vision changes, and we caught it early because we were vigilant. It’s scary, but early intervention can make a big difference.

Wow, I didn't realize Unituxin had so many potential side effects. How did other parents cope with the stress of monitoring for symptoms and handling therapy?

Hang in there. My son went through the treatment and it was rough, but he's a fighter. The nurses were amazing at managing the infusions and side effects. Don't hesitate to ask questions and advocate for your child.

Focus on the positive outcomes and the strength of your child. It’s a tough journey, but every step brings you closer to remission. Stay strong!
