I've recently been prescribed Zemplar 2mcg/ml Inj (Paricalcitol) to manage my PTH levels due to kidney disease. The doctor didn't go into much detail about the side effects, so I'm looking for some real-life experiences and advice. Has anyone else taken this medication? What were your experiences with side effects, and how did you manage them? The list of possible side effects is quite long and a bit scary. I'm particularly worried about the serious side effects like allergic reactions and high calcium levels. Any insights would be greatly appreciated!

Paricalcitol helped a lot with my PTH levels, but I did have some frequent urination. It's a bit annoying, but not a big deal in the grand scheme of things. If you are having frequent urination this is normal I had it too.

I've heard some scary stories about allergic reactions. If you start to feel any tightness in your chest or throat, get to a hospital ASAP. Better safe than sorry.

This medication can be a bit tricky, but it's worth it if it helps your bone health. I had some trouble sleeping at first, but it's better now.

I think it was a great decision to get some advice and help from others that are experiencing the same thing. Never felt alone.

Be careful with this one, I had a bad reaction to it. I got really bad headaches and dizziness. Had to stop taking it. Ask your doctor about alternatives if you feel unwell.

I've been on Zemplar for a while now and haven't experienced any serious side effects. Just some mild stomach upset and joint pain, but it's manageable. Stay hydrated and keep an eye on your calcium levels!

I had some nose and throat irritation at first, but it went away after a few weeks. I'd say give it some time before you worry too much. I would just get an advice from your doctor it is best to do that.

Why do these medications always have such long side effect lists? It's enough to make you not want to take them! But seriously, follow your doctor's advice and stay vigilant.

I had some really bad nausea and vomiting when I started. It got better but I'm still worried about the high calcium levels. Does anyone know how often you should get your levels checked?
