PEG 3350 Powder 850gm: My Experience and Questions About This Constipation Reliever
I've been using PEG 3350 Powder for a few weeks now to deal with occasional constipation, and it seems to work well. I mix it with water and drink it as directed. So far, I've had no serious side effects, but I've noticed some minor discomfort like stomach cramps and gas. I'm wondering if anyone else has had similar experiences or if there are any tips for minimizing these side effects. Also, has anyone experienced any of the more severe side effects like rectal bleeding or severe dizziness? I'd love to hear some stories or advice. Should I be switching to a different brand or formulation? I've also read that it can be used for colonoscopy prep but not sure. I'm curious about the actual benefits or differences between brands and flavors.

If you're using PEG 3350 for colonoscopy prep, make sure to drink plenty of water before and after. It will give you a lot of gas and will likely make you extremely bloated until you can release it all.
Does anyone know if there are any long-term effects of using PEG 3350? I've been thinking about using it regularly to prevent constipation, but I'm worried about potential health risks. I think I'll probably be good if I just take it occasionally and do not make it a part of daily life.
I've used PEG 3350 for years and haven't had any major issues. Just stick to the dosage and you should be fine.
I've been using it for a while but it's still a pain to mix and drink. If you've found a good flavor and brand without any issues, please share! I think I may have tried flavored ones and it made the process a lot smoother.
I've never used it for colonoscopy prep, but I know people who have. They said it worked well for that too. Just make sure to follow the prep instructions carefully. Be careful to not just mix it with water to drink if you're using it for a colonoscopy. The directions for prepping for a colonoscopy are much different than the regular directions and you will need to be using the specific directions for that. You will likely need at least a gallon of the mixture and you'll be going directly to the bathroom right away.
I had some weird side effects that I didn't see on the list. Contacted my doctor and he told me it was probably a reaction to the flavoring. Might want to try the unflavored version if you're experiencing something odd. I've switched to powder form and it seems to be helping a lot.
I had severe stomach cramps the first few times I used it. My doctor recommended taking it with a full glass of water and eating a light meal afterward. That helped a lot. I also had some cramps but no more of the pain I was having before I tried the light meal method. I think it really just works better to take it with some food. I've been taking it with a bowl of cereal in the morning with some coffee and it's been working better for me. No more pain after taking it.
I had some rectal bleeding and pain a couple of weeks ago. I rushed to the doctor and they told me it was likely due to overuse. Make sure you follow the instructions and don’t take it more often than recommended.
I switched to the flavored version and it's so much easier to drink. Plus, it tastes a bit better than the plain stuff. Highly recommend it!
I had a bad reaction to it—got hives and had trouble breathing. Went to the ER and they told me I was likely allergic. Be careful and if you have any of the symptoms listed, get to the doctor right away.
