I was prescribed Phenergan 50mg Suppositories for severe nausea and vomiting due to a stomach bug, and I must say, the experience was... interesting. First off, the suppository itself is a bit awkward to insert, but it's a small price to pay for the relief it brings. However, I did experience some mild dizziness and drowsiness, which was expected. I was also a bit concerned about the serious side effects listed, but luckily, I didn't experience any of those. Has anyone else tried this medication? How was your experience? Also, what would cause a doctor to prescribe this instead of an oral medication? What are the benefits of a suppository vs a pill?

I had a similar experience with the suppositories, and I was so embarrassed when I had to take it in front of my nurse. She was very professional about it, but I still felt uncomfortable. I ended up asking for pills.

I've never had to take anything like this before. They fussed about the suppository part and then gave me some resting pills instead. I was so confused. I just googled them and they were the same sort of pills as the doctor had given me as well. I wonder if that's a common scenario.

It's important to note that Phenergan should be used with caution during pregnancy. While it can help with nausea, it's not typically the first line of treatment. Always consult a doctor before taking any medication while pregnant. Suppositories have their uses but, trust me, not for everything.

I've had to take these a few times when I couldn't keep anything down. While it's not the most pleasant method of delivery, it's really effective when you can't take anything orally. I think my doctor prescribed it because it's fast-acting and works directly through the rectum, bypassing the digestive system.

Suppositories are a no-go for me. The first time I took one, I felt like I was having a seizure, which is awful. Any alternative is better than these, in my opinion. Any suggestions?

My mom was given Phenergan suppositories for travel sickness but, unfortunately, she had a bad reaction to it. She had a fever. She ended up with an allergic reaction and had to go to the hospital. I've been a little terrified of taking it ever since.

I had some weird side effects when I took these: ear ringing and some temporary blurred vision. I figured it was the medication, so I stopped taking it and spoke with my doctor who switched me to an oral medication. I don't know what I would do if I ever had to take it again. The side effects were just awful.

I actually found these suppositories to be a godsend when I couldn't keep anything down due to chemotherapy. The suppositories were the only things that helped me get through. My stomach just couldn't handle anything orally.

Just wondering, can you take these while pregnant? My friend is vomiting because of her pregnancy, so I was thinking of suggesting it. Thanks!
