I've been using Plegridy for a few months to manage my multiple sclerosis, and it's been a game-changer. I experienced some initial flu-like symptoms, but they subsided after the first few injections. I've also noticed that the injection site reactions are more manageable with proper care. I'm curious if anyone else has found similar results or has tips for managing the side effects. Also interested in any information about long-term efficacy there seems to be a lot of mixed information available.

I wish I could have had some of those tips. I've been using it and the flu symptoms are just killing me. I have to take a day off from work every time I use it. Any other tips?

I have a friend who was diagnosed with MS. They were reluctant to use this because of the side effects. Maybe I can share this thread with them. It’s good to know others made it work.

I've been on Plegridy for about a year now, and my relapse rate has definitely decreased. However, I did have some pretty severe injection site reactions at first. Applying a cold pack to the area for 10-15 minutes before and after the injection really helped reduce the pain and redness. Also, taking Tylenol about 30 minutes before the injection helped with the flu-like symptoms. It's not a cure-all, but it made the side effects much more tolerable.

I was on Copaxone before switching to Plegridy. The injection site reactions are much worse with Plegridy, though I've found that rotating injection sites helps a lot. I try to move to a different part of my body each time to minimize irritation. That's something I started doing and it really helped.

I've been on Plegridy for a few years now, and one thing I've noticed is that the side effects seem to be lessened after the first few months. At the beginning, I'd have some pretty nasty flu-like symptoms, but after the first 6 months, they were minimal. My doctor also recommended taking the injection at night, right before bed, so you can sleep through the worst of the side effects. My wife recommended this since it helps reduce anxiety. I wish I knew that at the start--might save some tears!

I just started Plegridy and I'm really nervous about the potential side effects. Has anyone else experienced any of the more serious side effects like seizures or heart problems?

I've been on Plegridy for a while now and I've had some weird reactions. A few times I had a weird rash at the injection site. I didn't tell my doctor but it cleared up after a few days. I was thinking of mentioning it next time but I'm scared I will be forced to stop using it.

I had a really bad reaction to my first dose. Nauseous, aches, chills, and a headache. The doctor said it was normal but it was really scary. I was thinking of quitting but the doctor said it can get better. I'm still deciding.

I'm really glad I switched to Plegridy from Avonex. The injection frequency is much better for me—I can handle every two weeks much better than once a week. I can't wait for my insurance company to 'approve' additional medication after the 6 month waiting period.
