Pronounced hair loss on Premarin 0.3mg—Is this normal?
I've been taking Premarin 0.3mg for about 6 months in regards to hot flashes and vaginal dryness. The hot flashes went away and vaginal lubrication returned but I've noticed pronounced hair loss. It's only been a few months and I want to know if this is a normal side effect or is it worth speaking to my doctor about switching medications? I've been reading that hair loss is a possible side effect but I didn’t know if this much hair loss was normal. I'm hoping to hear some similar experiences and/or some good advice from other women who may have gone through this.

That's too bad—I haven't had any issues with hair loss, but I did experience some really bad headaches at first. I'm sorry to hear that you're dealing with that on top of menopause. I hope you find some relief soon! Hang in there.
I switched to a different estrogen replacement therapy and the hair loss stopped. Not sure if it was the Premarin or not, but it's worth a shot to see if a different medication works better.
I've always been terrified of the side effects of menopause meds. I know a lot of women who swear by Premarin, but I've also heard horror stories. If you're experiencing severe hair loss, it might be worth looking into natural remedies or other forms of treatment.
I didn't experience any hair loss, but my friend did. She switched to a different treatment entirely and it helped her. Have you tried any other options? It might be different for everyone so it's really important to consult a doctor before proceeding.
I took Premarin for years, and I did not experience any hair loss at all. I can't say the same for the hot flashes, unfortunately. Perhaps you are extremely sensitive to this medication and it is worth looking into alternatives or treatments to help with the hair loss.
I have had similar issues with other estrogen meds. Try not to panic, but definitely keep an eye on it. If it doesn't clear up, you may want to look into progesterone-only options. Either way, make sure you stay in touch with your doctor about this.
Premarin worked for me and I didn’t experience any hairloss. My doctor had warned me about a few side effects but not this .Of course, everyone is different, but you might want to consider asking your doctor about a lower dose or a different type of hormone replacement or supplement.
I agree, Premarin definitely caused my hair to thin. I was devastated about it, but it did grow back slowly after I stopped taking it. Talk to your doctor about switching to something else, but also consider seeing a dermatologist about treatments to help regrow your hair.
