I've been prescribed Ribavirin 200mg for my chronic hepatitis C and started taking it a few weeks ago. So far, I've had some flu-like symptoms, but nothing too bad. Ribavirin can be tough on the body. I found that taking it with food helped a bit with the stomach issues. Also, make sure to get regular blood tests to monitor your blood cell counts. The anemia can sneak up on you.
Be careful with the suicidal thoughts part. Keep a diary or something to track how you're feeling. It's a serious matter, so don't brush it off.
Stay on top of your doctor's appointments! I got really lazy and missed a few, which led to some issues. Also, try to keep in constant touch with your doctor.
I took Ribavirin a few years back, and while I didn't experience any serious side effects, I definitely had some trouble sleeping and muscle aches. It was a bit tough, but manageable. Just make sure to stay hydrated and take it easy.
