Ropinirole 5mg Tablets: My experience with side effects and how I'm copping
I've been taking Ropinirole 5mg for Parkinson's for about 6 months now, and I've experienced a few side effects that have been challenging to deal with. I started noticing dizziness and fatigue pretty early on, which made it hard to do my daily activities. Recently, I've been having some mood swings and anxiety, which is really affecting my quality of life. I'm curious if anyone else has had similar experiences? How did you cope with these issues? I'm also a little worried about the serious side effects listed. Has anyone had any scarily bad reactions to this med? What can I expect from my doctor in terms of managing these side effects, especially if they get worse? I'm looking for some advice and support on this thread.

I'm really sorry to hear that you're dealing with these issues. I've been on Ropinirole for a while and I've had some side effects too, but nothing as severe as mood swings. I found that increasing my daily fluids and eating smaller, more frequent meals helped a lot with the dizziness and fatigue. I don't know if a Parkinson's specialist is available, but trying that might be worth it. Be cautious and if you have any severe side effects go right away to the ER.
I've been on this medication for over a year now and I haven’t experienced any serious side effects, thankfully. I did have some initial dizziness and fatigue, but it subsided after a few weeks. I think it's important to stay in close contact with your doctor and report any new or worsening symptoms. They might be able to adjust your dosage or add something to help manage the side effects. I know how bad my restless legs are but I don't know if it's worth these side effects.
I had a similar issue with mood swings. It turned out I was low on iron and vitamin D. Other than that, I never got the serious side effects listed in the main post. Just constipation and headaches. Not as bad as it could be.
I've been taking Ropinirole for restless legs syndrome and I had a similar experience with the fatigue and dizziness. It was tough at first, but I found that adjusting my sleep schedule and avoiding heavy meals helped. I know this 100% sucks, but I hope it gets better!
Oh man, I hope you feel better soon. Think positive, though. I've had a good experience, but that's not the same for everyone. Don't give up hope!
My doctor mentioned something about dopamine agonists and I had to look it up. They can cause impulse control disorders, which might explain the mood swings and anxiety you're experiencing. If you don't get any relief from the suggestions here try talking to your specialist about it.
I think it's worth mentioning that everyone's experience with medication can be different. Maybe you're just sensitive to this drug. Have you considered switching to another medication or trying a different treatment plan? It's always good to have open communication with your healthcare provider. You are not alone!
I've heard that some people have issues with this medication affecting their sleep and behavior. I haven't had any problems with that but maybe it's worth a conversation with your doctor.
Thanks everyone for the advice and support. I'll definitely bring up these points with my doctor. It's reassuring to know I'm not alone in this. Did you all have to try a bunch of meds before you found one that worked?
