I was just prescribed Saxagliptin/metformin ER 5-500mg Tb to help manage my type 2 diabetes. I've heard mixed things about it. Anyone have experience with this combo? How has it worked out for you? I'm especially concerned about the potential side effects like severe stomach issues and joint pain. Has anyone dealt with those? Also, I'm trying to figure out how to take it correctly. Does anyone know if it's best to take it with food or on an empty stomach? How long does it usually take to see any noticeable effects on blood sugar levels? I'm hoping to hear some success stories and tips for managing any side effects that come up.

I started noticing a difference in my blood sugar levels after about two weeks. It wasn't an overnight thing, but it's definitely been worth it. Just be patient and monitor your levels regularly.

I'm on my third month and I've only had minor side effects so far. I take it at night and it hasn't affected my sleep at all. I take it with a snack because it helped with the nausea at first.

I've had a few episodes of low blood sugar, but I always keep glucose tablets on hand just in case. Be careful and listen to your body, hopefully you will be good.

I take my saxagliptin/metformin ER with dinner. It helped me avoid the stomach issues. But honestly, I've had a couple of headaches, but nothing major. I just take some ibuprofen if I get any.

I'm really skeptical about this med. I've had bad experiences with metformin. I'm hoping this one is better!

I had awful stomach issues when I first started. My doctor said it was probably just my body adjusting, but it sucked. Took a few weeks to get used to it, it's worth mentioning to your doctor if you experience any side effects.

This combo can be a lifesaver for managing type 2 diabetes. It's helped me a lot, but I did have some joint pain initially. I just started taking some ibuprofen and it went away, but if it gets bad go see your doctor. My doctor recommended taking it with food, it's helped a lot with the stomach issues. But everyone is different, so always follow your doc's advice.

I was scared of taking this because of the lactic acidosis risk but just had to take in small increments.

I've been on this med for a few months now. It's been pretty good so far and my blood sugar is more stable.

This medication is great. I've been on it for 4 months and had no issues. My levels are perfect and my stomach issues went away in a few weeks.
