I was recently prescribed Unithroid 0.125mg (125mcg) Tablets for hypothyroidism and I'm curious to hear from others who have experience with this medication. I've read about the potential side effects, both urgent and other possible ones, but I'd love to hear firsthand accounts. Have any of you experienced hair loss, mood changes, or other issues? On the flip side, how long did it take to start feeling better? Any tips for managing side effects or dosing? Let's share our stories and support each other!

I've heard that taking levothyroxine on an empty stomach can help with absorption, is that true for anyone else?

I heard that taking Unithroid with food can interfere with absorption. Anyone else heard that?

Has anyone had trouble with weight changes? I've been losing weight pretty steadily, but I'm not sure if it's due to the medication or just a change in my diet and exercise. Hard to tell sometimes!

Got any tips for dealing with the mood swings? I've been feeling a bit more anxious and irritable lately, and I'm not sure if it's the medication or just stress from work.

I've been on Unithroid for about 6 months now and it's been a game-changer. I felt more energized within a few weeks, but it took a few months to dial in the right dose. I did experience some hair loss in the beginning, but it grew back. Stick with it, it's worth it.

I've been on Unithroid for about a year and I've had no major side effects. I did have some mild hair loss but nothing too bad.

I've been on Unithroid for a few months now and the side effects have been relatively minimal. I've had some sensitivity to heat and sweating but my doctor said that's normal and that my body's adjusting! Just wish I had a better idea of what to expect.

I take my Unithroid first thing in the morning with a full glass of water, usually before I eat. I've read that food can interfere with absorption. Also, I try to take it at the same time every day to keep my levels steady. As for side effects, I've had some shakiness and sweating, but my doctor said that could be due to my dosage. Still trying to find the sweet spot.

I was really nervous about starting Unithroid because of the side effects, but honestly, it's been a great improvement on how I'm feeling. As long as you take it consistently and as directed, it should be fine. I've had some trouble with the periodic mood swings but that might just be me overreacting. It feels like I have more energy but I'm not quite sure if it's just in my head.

This thread is making me realize how many side effects there are. I've just started taking the pills so I'm not sure how they'll affect me. I hope I don't get the flu though, my thyroid has been a real PITA. Thanks, genetics.
