I was recently prescribed Diltiazem ER 180mg Caps (xr-24h) for high blood pressure and chest pain. I've been taking it for a couple of weeks now but I'm a bit anxious about the possible side effects. Has anyone else had experience with this medication? I'm particularly worried about the more serious side effects like liver problems and severe skin reactions. How well does it actually work for managing blood pressure and angina? Any insights or tips would be greatly appreciated!

I had a friend who had a bad reaction to this med. He ended up with yellow skin and eyes. Made him feel terrible. Super scary stuff.

I've heard really mixed things about this med. Some people swear by it, but others have had pretty rough experiences.

My mom was on this and switched to another CA channel blocker and felt way better

I had some pretty bad nausea and headaches when I started, but my doctor adjusted the dose and it got better. Stick with it if you can, it does help a lot with blood pressure.

I think the main thing is to keep your doctor in the loop. Don't be afraid to report any weird symptoms, even if they seem minor.

I started taking this for irregular heartbeat and it's helped a lot. But if you're worried about side effects, talk to your doctor. It's important to monitor symptoms closely.

Be cautious and keep an eye out for any signs of allergic reactions. I had to switch meds because of severe skin irritation, but it was better to catch it early.

I switched to a brand name version after having a bad reaction to the generic. Might be worth a shot if you're having issues.
