Sharing my experience with Portia Tablets 28 - any fellow users or advice?
I was recently prescribed Portia Tablets 28 as a birth control option. I've been taking it for about a month now and have had some mild spotting and occasional headaches. I know these can be common side effects, but I'm curious if anyone else has experienced something similar. Have any of you had good or bad experiences with this pill? Any advice or words of encouragement would be greatly appreciated. Also, I'm wondering if anyone knows how long it might take for the spotting to subside? I'm trying to decide whether to stick it out and give my body more time to adjust, or if I should talk to my doctor about switching to a different birth control method.

I had some really bad depression on Portia. It was a dark time, and I didn't even know it was coming from the pill. If you start feeling really down, definitely talk to your doctor. There are other options out there, and you don't need to deal with something that's affecting your mental health.
I actually had a really hard time with Portia because of the weight gain and tender breasts. I couldn't handle it for too long. But I did find a different birth control that worked for me, so don't give up if Portia isn't working out.
Portia worked great for me! I had no side effects at all. Maybe you just need to give your body more time to adjust. Definitely talk to your doctor about your concerns, though. It's important to be open with them before changing medications.
I was on Portia for a few months and had the same spotting issue. It went away after about 3 months for me, so I'd give it a bit more time if you can. Make sure to take it at the same time every day for best results
I made the switch to Portia because of the lesser hormonal content. I've had no issues — and my periods are so much better now! If you're worried about side effects, I'd talk to your doctor about switching to a lower dosage.
I was really anxious about potential side effects, but Portia has been fine for me. Just make sure to take it every day at the same time, and you should be good to go. If you are unsure, definitely talk to your doctor about it.
I wish someone had warned me about the potential for severe migraines. It was like nothing I'd ever experienced before. I had to switch pills because it was affecting my daily life.
I had awful mood swings on Portia. It was like living with a different person every day. I switched to a different pill and it's been much better. Perhaps it's worth exploring other options if the side effects don't improve. Do a pill preference test if you're going back to your doctor — worth it!
