I've been taking Stimulant Lax Plus 8.6-50mg Tabs for a few weeks now to deal with occasional constipation. The combination of docusate and senna seems to work well for me, but I've been a bit concerned about the potential side effects, especially the rare but serious allergic reactions. Has anyone else had any problems with this medication? I've heard mixed things about stimulant laxatives. Does anyone have any tips on how to manage side effects or know if there are any long-term risks? I've been trying to drink plenty of water and increase my fiber intake, but I'm still a bit nervous about the possible effects of long-term use.

I've found that increasing my fiber intake and drinking more water has helped me avoid taking laxatives altogether. But when I do need them, these work well. Just be cautious with the dosage and don't exceed the recommended amount.

Docusate on its own didn't really do much for me. Senna makes the difference. Haven't had any issues from the side effects, but I'm careful to use it sparingly.

I had a bad experience with a different stimulant laxative and now I'm scared to try anything new. Has anyone had any issues with addiction or dependence?

I switched to this from another laxative because it was gentler on my system. I've had no problems so far, but I've also been careful to not overuse it. Drink lots of water and don't let it become a crutch. What's the dosage you're taking?

I've been taking these for a month and haven't had any side effects yet. But I do make sure to stay hydrated and eat a lot of fiber. Fingers crossed it stays that way.

I had no idea these could cause such severe side effects. I've had some mild discomfort but nothing serious. I guess I'll keep an eye out for any allergic reactions.

Be careful with stimulant laxatives. They can cause dependence. When I was in college I took them way too often and it messed up my system pretty bad. I had to actually go to my doctor to get back to normal. It took months and was no fun at all. I'm not saying never take them, just be smart about it.

Yes, be very careful with these. Senna is a stimulant and can get addictive in some cases. Don't depend on it, it's really easy to overuse, and you WILL be addicted. Trust me, I lived that nightmare. You'll want your doctors help to get off it eventually.

I've been taking these for years and never had any issues. Just make sure to follow the instructions and stay hydrated.

I had a friend who took these and ended up with terrible stomach cramps. She had to stop taking them immediately. Make sure to monitor how your body reacts and if you experience any unusual symptoms, stop and call your doctor.
