I've been prescribed Sumatriptan injection for my migraines, and while it's been a lifesaver for the pain, I'm a bit nervous about the potential side effects. The list is long, and some are quite scary. I've had a few episodes of dizziness and upset stomach after using it, but nothing too severe. How have others found this medication? Have you experienced any serious side effects? I'm also curious about the long-term effects, as my doctor mentioned that prolonged use might not be ideal. I've heard whispers of serotonin syndrome and cardiovascular risks, but I feel like many of my questions about Sumatriptan go unanswered.

I've had a similar experience with the dizziness and nausea. It's a small price to pay compared to the headache relief, but I do worry about the long-term effects. Has anyone talked to their doctor about alternative treatments or preventive measures to reduce dependency on Sumatriptan?

I've had this drug work miracles and feel like a new person. Similar to the other poster, I worry about the long term effects. The injection site irritation is annoying but tolerable. I greatly prefer it to Endo Migraines.

I tried Sumatriptan once and ended up in the ER with severe chest tightness. It was terrifying. I've since switched to another medication. Just be cautious and listen to your body.

Sounds like some serious side effects. What are the odds of something like serotonin syndrome? There's no way I'd risk that.
