I'm planning a trip to the Swiss Alps and I was thinking about taking a dip in Lake Brienz. The water looks crystal clear in the pictures, but I'm not sure if it's actually suitable for swimming. Has anyone here had experience swimming in Lake Brienz? How cold is the water? Are there any good spots to access the lake? I've heard about the platform at Giessbach Falls, but are there other good options? Is there anything else I should know before I go?

Lake Brienz is beautiful, but if you're looking for warmer waters, check out Lake Geneva. It's still stunning and the water is much warmer.

I've swam in Lake Brienz a few times and I think the best time to go is early morning. The sun is high in the sky early in the summer and the water is warmer. Just be careful with your stuff since there are no lockers, and people have had stuff stolen....

I think it would be way too cold for me. I'll stick to the hot springs in the area. But if you're a real man then go for it!

I'm planning to go there next week? Would it be worth it to rent equipment or bring your own?

Okay, but what about the wildlife? Are there any dangerous creatures in the lake? I'd hate to be swimming and suddenly come face-to-face with a monster fish.
