I recently started taking Vitamin B-1 50mg Tablets, or thiamine, to help with energy levels and nervous system support. I've heard great things about it, but I'm curious about others' experiences — especially regarding side effects. This has been described as essential for energy conversion and nerve health, but I'm wondering if it's really necessary or if it's just a little overhyped. Does anyone have any thoughts on the dosage or potential interactions with other medications? Are there any foods you should avoid while on this? I'd love to hear your thoughts and experiences!

Dunno about the nerves, but I'd be careful if you're allergic to anything else. Sounds like you might experience some strange reactions that can be fatal. Make sure you talk to your doctor if you’re allergic to anything else. Thiamin is one of the cheapest vitamins to buy, so it's worth it if you have the money.

I've had friends suggest it for the energy boost. And my trainer always says, 'It's good for your nerves,' but I'm skeptical. My friend had an allergic reaction to some vitamin — hope it's not the same! Anyone else think this is too good to be true? Is it just a placebo?

I tried thiamine once and had a bit of an upset stomach. I think it might have been due to taking it on an empty stomach, but I'm not sure. I didn't experience any serious side effects, but I didn't see a significant difference in my energy levels either. Thiamine did help clear up my mental fog, which was surprising and pretty helpful.

I am a nurse and I have seen a handful of patients on high dose thiamine for severe deficiency. It's been very effective for them and I think it's a bit overhyped by people who don't understand the mechanisms of severe deficiencies, but it's still a good supplement for most people.
